About Quiet Money
Quiet Money is a short-video channel that explains money psychology and personal finance in about 60 seconds per video, with real numbers.
What it is
Quiet Money publishes new short videos every day on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels, and keeps a written version of every video here in the Money Rules Library. Each video teaches one money rule that most people were never taught: how compound interest works, why minimum credit card payments take decades, how raises disappear into lifestyle creep, and what ordinary people did to build wealth quietly.
Who it is for
18-40 year olds who earn a paycheck, feel behind with money, and want simple rules that work.
The series
- Money Stories: A true story about a real person or event and the money lesson inside it. Open on the most shocking fact, reveal the person, walk through what they did, land the lesson.
- The Math They Hide: One shocking calculation (fees, interest, compounding, inflation) told step by step with exact numbers the viewer can check. Every number must be computed, not guessed.
- Money Psychology: A named psychological bias or habit that quietly drains money (lifestyle creep, anchoring, mental accounting). Name it, show it in everyday life, give the counter-move.
- Money Myths: A popular money belief the viewer probably holds, why it is wrong or incomplete, and the rule that replaces it.
- Do This Today: A concrete 3-step action the viewer can do today in under 15 minutes (automate savings, kill a fee, negotiate a bill). Beats start with 'Step one.', 'Step two.', 'Step three.'; each step is specific (where to click, what to say). Back it with one number from the fact sheet. No fluff.
- Penny's Money Lab: One calculation or comparison drawn on ledger paper. Every beat has a drawable callout: a counting number ('$698,202'), a face-off ('$500 VS $2,000'), a numbered move ('STEP ONE'), or a rule in four words ('RULE OF 72'). Open on the number that surprises, show how it is computed in plain steps with exact numbers the viewer can check, end on the one move to make today. About money mechanics, not people: no stories about real individuals, nothing that needs a photograph.
- Escape the Rat Race: One proven income-building framework (the value equation, the rule of 100, the four ways to get customers, asset vs liability, the four ways to earn, using other people's money, your circle sets your ceiling) or the math of replacing a paycheck with passive income. Teach the framework in our own words: what it is, one real number from the fact sheet, one concrete move the viewer can make this week, and the honest catch (effort, risk, or debt). No quotes, and no claims about real people; the video is about the method, not the person. Bold and direct, never hype: no promised income.
How we make videos
Every calculation is computed by code with the assumption stated on screen (for example "at 8% a year"). Every true story is checked against at least two reputable sources, listed on its page. Narration and visuals are AI-assisted and labeled as such on every platform. Real people are never shown by face.
What we do not do
We do not give personalized financial advice, recommend specific stocks or coins, or promise returns. This is education.
