The 60-Second Money Reset (free lead magnet)
From Quiet Money: the money rules nobody taught you. Educational content, not financial advice.
Do one box a day. In a week your money runs on rules instead of willpower.
Day 1: Find the leaks (15 min)
- Open last month's bank and card statements.
- Highlight every subscription and recurring charge.
- Cancel at least one you forgot about. (A $15/month subscription is $1,800 over 10 years.)
Day 2: Pay yourself first (10 min)
- Open a separate savings account (look for a high-yield one).
- Set an automatic transfer for payday, even $25. Saving what's left is why nothing's left.
Day 3: Split every paycheck (10 min)
- Write your take-home pay: $______
- 50% needs: $______ · 30% wants: $______ · 20% future: $______
- If needs are over 50%, circle the biggest one. That's next month's project.
Day 4: Kill the most expensive debt first (10 min)
- List every debt with its interest rate.
- Put every extra dollar on the highest rate (avalanche) or the smallest balance (snowball). Pick one.
- Never pay only the minimum: $6,000 at 24% on minimums takes about 21 years and $10,887 in interest.
Day 5: Build the $1,000 buffer (15 min)
- Sell one thing you don't use.
- Do a no-spend weekend.
- Park it in savings. Label it "emergencies only".
Day 6: Stop fee bleeding (10 min)
- Turn on low-balance and large-purchase alerts in your banking app.
- Call about any fee from the last 90 days and ask: "Can you waive this as a courtesy?"
Day 7: Lock in raises (5 min)
- Write this rule down: *When income goes up, half the raise goes to savings before I see it.*
- Put your money rules on one index card. Keep it in your wallet.
